Skate With Friends

Skate With Friends is one CrossBar row with three actions: Host a Session, Find a Session, and Join with a Code. All three sit under Start, then ONLINE. Everyone has to open this same address with hardware acceleration on, or the WebGPU device never comes up and the list stays blank.

The host and the guest load the same world. A code does not move you from Skate School into University. Agree the file first, then host, then either browse the list or type the code the host sees.

Three ways in

Host a Session, Find a Session, and Join with a Code are the three actions under ONLINE. Find a Session browses sessions on this server. On 4 October that list was still labeled Freeskate and showed ping beside each row. The tab is Skate now.

The 4 October list

At 9:17 PM on 4 October a hosted list was already up, with ping beside the rows, under the older Freeskate tab. One of those rows was adp at 0 ms, and another was Player at 167 ms. The play address spread on 7 October. Hosting already worked on the 4th, before that link. Spot Battle was not on the list, and there is no server browser outside the CrossBar.

The project Discord is linked from ONLINE as Join the Discord. The invite is discord.gg/EKF8gZnZGe. It opens the Discord. It does not list who is hosting.

Same address, same world

Send the play address, not a screenshot of your desktop. The guest turns hardware acceleration on, waits for the device, and only then opens ONLINE. If their copy is missing University, Choose World cannot invent it. Game Server may show a count and a size, or a zip address. You still supply the converted files.

Fullscreen is an OPTIONS row, and holding Esc leaves it. A guest stuck in fullscreen can miss the code box. Leave fullscreen, open ONLINE, and type. Lite Mode on one side and Full Quality on the other does not split the session. The world file does.

How to read the list

Find a Session is a list, not a search box. On 4 October, at 9:17 PM, that list sat under the older Freeskate tab, with a ping figure on the row. Ping means the host can be reached from this server. It does not tell you which map they loaded. Ask for the world name before you click.

Join with a Code skips the browse. The host reads a short code off their own ONLINE panel and you type it. The code points at their session. It does not ferry you from the school park into Downtown. If they are downtown and you are still on the small warm-up park, change your world, wait until that file is in, then type the code.

Host a Session is you becoming the row. Friends need this same address and a live WebGPU device. A picture of your screen does not carry the session across. Tell them the play address and the world, then either stay visible on the list or read the code out loud.

When the code does nothing

An empty list usually means the device never started. Hardware acceleration has to be on before ONLINE can fill rows. If Safari will not bring the device up, switch to a Chromium browser, the same advice Asher gives for his own testing in Brave. If the device is up and the list is still empty, the host may not have pressed Host a Session, or you opened a different address.

Fullscreen can hide the code field. OPTIONS is able to enter fullscreen as you drop in, and holding Esc is how you leave it. Come back to the window, open Start, open ONLINE, then type. Saved Downloads deletes maps this browser kept. After that, a heavy city will not load until the converted copy is back. Game Server can show a file count and a size in megabytes, or a zip address, and neither number is a lobby you can click. If the connection drops, host or join again.

Reset First-Run Setup, under OPTIONS, asks for difficulty and a world again on the next boot. It does not remove you from a session you already entered. Delete Local Settings forgets options this browser stored, Lite Mode included. Host and guest can run different graphics. They cannot run different world files and still share a plaza.

A missing Spot Battle button is not a failed code. Spot Battle has no ONLINE row. It was named on 8 October, and FREESKATE, LEARN, and OPTIONS do not hide it either. The fourteen CrossBar names are the whole menu. Join the Discord is only the invite. Use the in-game list or the code when you want a session tonight.

Pick the world before you host. The ollie after you spawn is the right-stick flick. The list went public in the first week of October.
